ARTS, CULTURE & HISTORY
Bexhill is the home of the De La Warr Pavilion which was first opened to the public on the 12th of December 1935. People the world over come to visit and admire this spectacular Grade One listed building and modernist icon which attracts over 400,000 visitors a year. The De La Warr Pavilion plays host to live shows, concerts, plays, contemporary art exhibitions and local community events. After all the culture, panoramic sea views can be enjoyed from the bar, restaurant and sheltered sun terrace.
Bexhill Museum, in Egerton Park, is full of family-friendly exhibits including the cars that made Bexhill the Home of British Motor Racing. Bexhill is also part of the Coastal Culture Trail. This fantastic trail takes you across 22 miles of East Sussex coastline visiting 3 award winning galleries -from the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings, via the De La Warr Pavilion, to Towner in Eastbourne.
Further afield Hastings old town boasts an abundance of antique shops, historic Rye has spectacular views, Battle Abbey and site of the Battle of Hastings are steeped in history, whilst Beachy Head is famous for its white cliffs and the dramatic, undulating coastline created by the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs.
The surrounding area has a wealth of historic castles, Bodiam, Herstmonceux, Lewes and Hever are just four among many.
LEISURELY WALKS & SPORT
Bexhill sea-front, with its wide promenade, provides a glorious traffic-free two miles of healthy sea air for walkers and cyclists. The more ambitious can continue walking or cycling all the way to Hastings to the east, and to Cooden Beach and beyond to the west.

East Sussex is notable for its splendid historic houses and gardens - Pashley Manor Gardens in Ticehurst has some of the finest in the country, and equally worthy are Sheffield Park and Garden in Uckfield and Great Dixter House and Gardens in Northiam.
FOOD & DRINK
The town of Bexhill has an abundance of friendly cafés and restaurants and independent shops where you can pick up a vintage bargain or local art to take home.
